Work

This page is an overview of what I do.

My full business site is HERE, and my metacrisis work lives HERE.

For the last 20 years, I have worked as a trainer and facilitator. To give you an idea of what that means, current and recent projects include:

  • Corporate workshops called ‘Men Talking to Men’ and ‘An Introduction to Regeneration’
  • Design and delivery of mentor training programmes for care leavers across the UK, and the Mayor of London
  • Lecturing to Masters level at universities across Europe
  • Delivering a ‘Pre-Employability Skills’ course for young people
  • Leading the community engagement for my hometown’s UK Town of Culture bid
  • Research project to help bridge the gap between local young people and businesses
  • Running workshops and online courses about the metacrisis

There is a danger that makes me look like a jack-of-all-trades – which might be true. However, there are threads running through all those projects.

Culture

Culture is easy to over-complicate. The best definition I’ve found comes from Seth Godin: “Culture is how we do things around here.” Figuring it out – whether in a business or a community context – is a collective, collaborative, and intentional process.

Leadership

Our volatile, complex world needs leaders who are comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity. While there is a time and place for decisive action, we need leaders who can find the balance between boldness and humility, courage and vulnerability.

Relationships

The modern world wants us to see everything as separate – but it’s not. None of us exist independently [try holding your breath, and see how long you survive]. We need to re-connect with all aspects of ourselves, the people around us, and the natural world.

As my Manifesto says, I believe in long-term results, not shortcuts or hacks. I can’t ‘fix your culture’ in one 2-hour workshop [no one can], and there isn’t a neat and tidy ‘4-step Process for Leadership’.

This work takes time and patience, effort and commitment … but it’s worth it.

If you think we could work together, then I’d love to hear from you.
